Privacy policy

Our approach to app users' privacy

Privacy

Collection and use of personal information

We collect certain information or data about you when you use our mobile app (NHS Scotland Formulary). This includes:

  • Your name and e-mail address if you contact us using our Contact Us form.
  • Information on how you use our app.

This helps us to improve the app by monitoring how you use it and respond to any feedback you send us, if you've asked us to. We won't share your information with any other organisations for marketing, market research or commercial purposes, and we don't pass on your details to other websites.

Disclosing or sharing your information

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so.

Content disclaimer

We seek to ensure that information on our website and mobile app is up-to-date and accurate. However, the information does not constitute legal or professional advice and we cannot accept liability for actions arising from its use. Neither can we be held responsible for the contents of any pages referenced by an external link.

Links to and from our mobile app

Our mobile app contains links to other websites. This privacy policy only applies to our site and app and doesn't cover other websites.

We welcome websites to link to our app. You don't have to ask for permission to do so. However, we don't give you permission to suggest that your website is associated with, or endorsed by, our app.

Where our mobile app contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

Measuring app usage

We use Google Analytics software to collect information about how you use our mobile app. We do this to help make sure the app is meeting your needs and to help us make improvements.

We store information about:

  • The pages you visit and how long you spend on each page.
  • What you click on while you're using our app.

Any information on website usage is received in a way that means we can't identify individuals. We don't make any attempt to find out the identities of people using our app and we don't allow Google to do this either.

All information we get through analytics will be treated in confidence. We’ll never sell, trade or give your details to third parties, unless we're required to do it by law.
